A Clinician Who Understands the Church

Dr. Jake Porter is a clinician, educator, speaker and pastor specializing in betrayal trauma and couple-centered recovery. Through his work with couples, clinicians, and ministry leaders, he has developed frameworks that help couples move from crisis toward structured healing.

As a Board Certified Counselor, Rice University Doerr Institute Certified Professional Coach, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor, and creator of Couple–Centered Recovery®, Dr. Jake brings both clinical expertise and a pastor’s heart to his work with churches.

His work with Daring Ventures — the Houston-based counseling, coaching, and consultation practice he founded in 2017 — has helped couples from around the world navigate the devastating effects of betrayal trauma and sexual integrity struggles.
